The Level of Using Family Planning Methods in Refugees in Türkiye and the Factors Affecting Their Choices: A Retrospective Clinical Study

Objective: To determine the family planning methods used by refugee women of reproductive age and factors affecting their choices. Material Methods: Parameters such as age, duration marriage, number gravidity birth, socioeconomic status, educational level, contraceptive preferred foreign national who presented to (FP) outpatient clinic between January 1st, 2013, October 31st, 2020 were documented assesed. Results: A total 721 participants included in study. The cumulative percentage Syrian applied FP was 1.7% this rate 91.1% 2019. made up 93.6%, Afghan 2.5%, Iraqi accounted for 1.9%. most intrauterine devices (IUDs) (51.1%) bilateral tubal ligation (BTL) (33.2%). Illiterate IUDs (56.5%) more, with university education BTL (74.1%) (p=0.008). Women low-income mostly (54.1%), whereas high-income (56.9%) (p=0.001). common birth control from countries outside Syria. Conclusion: Effective appropriate should be explained immigrant because income levels refugees affect choice contraception.
